Gpx files - We can help you with the guidance

We offer both free and paid route collections across the region. Some free routes are accessed by browsing the website.
Look at cycling resources.
Moreover we provide detailed paid itineraries with route information, gpx files and our recommendations for places to see along the route .

We have put together diverse groups of rides for all levels (distance, descriptions, climbs, elevation gain and GPX files):

  • 8 routes around Varese, if you love climbing. 5 of them have options for the most demanding riders,
  • 4 routes around Varese, mostly flat,
  • 8 routes around Colmegna on Lake Maggiore, if you love climbing. 5 of them have options for the most demanding riders,
  • 7 routes around Colmegna on Lake Maggiore, mostly flat,
  • 10 routes around Lake Lugano,
  • 9 routes around Locarno and Ascona in the upper part of Lake Maggiore,
  • 8 routes around Stresa and Baveno in the lower part of Lake Maggiore.

We utilize Google My Maps to host and share our cycling routes, so you can select them without App, without signing up and logging in.
Plus all the main climbing segments on Strava in the area (100+).
Both rides and Strava Segments are highlighted on Google My Maps.

Here you are an example on Google My Maps we made for a guest of ours.

Obviously you can get:

  • GPX files which contain the tracks you can upload on your gps device,,
  • Maps on Google My Maps,
  • Climbing Segments on Strava (100+) in the area of the Lakes (Varese, Lake Maggiore, Lake Lugano and partially Lake Como).

We also suggest to use App GpxViewer (app on Google Play or Apple Store), so you can upload the gpx file and see the routes inside. You can select and study the routes alternately.

Here you are an example on App GpxViewer.

Bespoke route creation - tailor-made GPX files

How does it work?
Basically, let us know your fitness and what you fancy doing. What sort of riding do you enjoy? Flat, hilly, bit of both, distance, elevation gain, where to start.
So we'll whip up both a custom route you can see on Google My Maps and GPX file that you can load onto your phone or bike computer.

Why use gpx files for ride a bike

No more getting lost! This is the big one. You load the GPX file onto your cycling computer (or even your phone), and it shows you exactly where to go. Think of it like having a personal guide, but one that doesn't chat your ear off! It's got a little line on the map that you just follow.
No more peering at dodgy maps or guessing which way to turn. You can just enjoy the ride and take in the scenery, knowing you're on the right track. Seriously, it's so liberating! In the past you used to spend ages beforehand planning routes and still end up taking a wrong turn. Now, you just load up the GPX and off you go!

You can explore those little back roads or those climbs without the fear of ending up miles off course. It opens up a whole new world of cycling possibilities! Often, the best routes are the ones you wouldn't find on a map. GPX files can contain routes that locals use, so you're more likely to discover those hidden gems, that tiny village or that stunning viewpoint you'd never have stumbled upon otherwise.
So GPX files are brilliant for cyclists. They make riding more enjoyable, less stressful, and open up a whole new world of exploration. You'll be hooked in no time!
